Build your interview materials
Upload and check your resume, job description, project evidence and speaking sample. Select the right versions for each interview.
Your materials tell OfferWoo which experience it can draw on. Start with the resume you sent for this role and the actual job description. Add project evidence when the resume leaves out a decision, limitation or result you want to discuss.
Upload a file and check what was read
Section titled “Upload a file and check what was read”- Open Materials. Choose the type under Upload as, then select Upload file.
- Use TXT or Markdown up to 1 MB, or PDF or Word .docx up to 10 MB. A filename ending in
.docis not the same format as.docx. - Wait for Ready. Uploading means the file is being transferred; processing means its text is being read. Neither state means it is ready for an interview.
- Open the file and inspect Text preview. Check names, dates, headings, tables and at least one result from the last page. A successful upload does not prove the extracted text is correct.
- If the text is missing or scrambled, use a readable text version. For a scanned document, first extract its text and check it yourself; do not assume every scan will be understood.
If reading fails, use Retry reading when available. If the page asks for another upload, upload a readable replacement. Keep the original until the preview is usable.
Give each kind of material a clear job
Section titled “Give each kind of material a clear job”| Material | Useful contents | Leave out |
|---|---|---|
| Resume | The version sent to this employer, accurate dates and responsibilities | Conflicting older resumes |
| Job description | Responsibilities, requirements and the role title | Unrelated vacancies pasted into the same file |
| Knowledge | Decisions, alternatives, your contribution, results and sources | Unverified figures presented as facts |
| Speaking style | A short sample of how you explain something | Fictional career claims disguised as your history |
The selected files and role description are used together. A speaking sample can guide wording; it cannot establish that you worked on a project. Label invented practice answers clearly and keep them out of the factual project record.
Copy this project-note template
Section titled “Copy this project-note template”Replace each bracket with a fact you can explain. Delete fields you cannot support.
Project and dates[Name or safe description; period]
Problem and constraints[Who was affected; what was going wrong; deadline or limits]
My responsibility[What I owned; what colleagues owned]
Decision[Options considered; why we chose this one; its downside]
Implementation and checks[Actions I took; how we tested or reviewed them]
Result and evidence[Observed change; measurement period; source of any number]
What I would change[Remaining limitation; next step]For confidential work, use an approved description and remove names, customer records, credentials and internal links that should not be shared. You can explain a trade-off without uploading the underlying customer data.
Choose materials for a role
Section titled “Choose materials for a role”In Interview plans, open a plan, choose the role and select the files under Choose materials. Save the plan. You can also select materials while preparing a browser interview.
Uploading a file does not automatically include it in every interview. Before starting, confirm the selected resume, role description, cue language and project notes. An unselected file will not fill a gap in the current preparation.
Update a file without losing its history
Section titled “Update a file without losing its history”Use Upload new version from the file details. Check the new text preview and readiness before using it. The version selector lets you inspect uploaded versions. Updating a file does not rewrite a past interview’s saved preparation.
An interview already in progress uses the preparation captured at its start. Do not expect a later upload to repair cues in that running interview. Finish or pause as appropriate, correct the materials, and check the next interview’s selection.
When a cue contains the wrong experience
Section titled “When a cue contains the wrong experience”Check the selected files first, then compare the cue with the source text. Remove contradictory drafts, identify team achievements separately from your own work, and replace unsupported numbers with the observation you can verify. A cue is a suggestion to check, not evidence that an event happened.
For a worked project example, read how to explain a project. Once the material preview and selection are correct, continue with browser interview setup.
