Choose web or desktop and set permissions
Decide which app suits your meeting, find the right installer and distinguish website permissions from system audio and screen access.
You do not need to install the desktop app to prepare materials, plan a round or review a saved interview. For a meeting running in a supported browser tab, you can also start the interview on the web. Choose desktop when your setup needs its supported native audio or window features.
Check the release before downloading
Section titled “Check the release before downloading”Use the downloads page, choose your operating system and read the listed system requirements and version. The current Mac target is Apple Silicon with macOS 15 or later. Windows release availability is listed separately. Do not assume a Mac package works on Intel or that a Windows download exists because another platform is available.
If a release has no download button, there is no installer to download from that entry. Use the web route where its audio requirements fit your meeting. Keep the installer source and version when reporting an installation problem.
Sign in to the desktop app
Section titled “Sign in to the desktop app”Open OfferWoo and choose Sign in. The app opens your default browser for authentication. Check the account shown there, finish the authorization and allow the browser to open OfferWoo when asked. Return to the app and confirm the account before closing the browser page.
If the app is still waiting, restart sign-in from the app. An old browser callback may have expired and refreshing it does not create a new request. See Account & sign-in.
Understand each permission
Section titled “Understand each permission”| Permission | What it allows | Which app to check |
|---|---|---|
| Microphone | Capturing your spoken answer | Browser for web use; OfferWoo for desktop use |
| Screen/system audio access | Capturing a permitted screen or system audio source | The application requesting capture |
| Website microphone permission | Allowing this site to use the browser microphone | The OfferWoo site entry in browser settings |
| Browser share-source choice | Selecting the exact tab, window or display to share | The chooser opened for this capture |
Allowing the meeting application alone does not authorize another application. Similarly, granting the browser OS access does not automatically allow every website.
On macOS, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, then the relevant Microphone or Screen & System Audio Recording entry. Enable the application you are actually using. Follow any request to reopen it. Apple’s screen and system audio permission guide documents these settings; labels can vary with the OS version.
For browser microphone settings, use Chrome’s official instructions. A workplace administrator may control these permissions. Do not bypass an organisation’s device policy to complete setup.
Verify the result
Section titled “Verify the result”Return to OfferWoo, select the intended sources and test both meters. Speak yourself, then have a test partner speak. A checked permission switch is only an access setting; the audio test shows whether the intended sound reaches the app.
If you need screen sharing, inspect the received picture from another device. The desktop window behavior and the browser compact window have different limits. Test the exact release and sharing mode you intend to use.
After an update or equipment change
Section titled “After an update or equipment change”End and save an active interview before updating, restarting or replacing an audio device. Recheck your account and selected sources afterwards. If the same permission prompt keeps returning, note its exact wording and the requesting app, then use troubleshooting. Repeatedly downloading copies or changing unrelated permissions makes the original failure harder to identify.
